Blackhawk Farms Raceways Weekend
Join us again for a unique experience!! We will witness Vintage Racing at its finest with British cars all over the place! Cars ageing from pre-war up to 1973 with well over 120 cars expected on the track! Come up on Friday or Saturday and stay one or two nights.
Our own Phil Taxman will be racing his ’65 E-type Coupe for our JAGSL members to cheer on . It will be fun!! You can also get your OWN car on the track for a spirited drive. Learn how challenging it can be to trav-erse the track … gain a new appreciation for the race driver’s experience.
Weather-wise, expect a typical late spring up north, which is cooler than St. Louis.
Should be a fantastic weekend!!
Details about Blackhawk Farms Raceway and the Event:
It is a 1.95-mile (3.14 km) private circuit racetrack located outside
South Beloit,
Illinois, on a 219-acre (0.9 km
2) farm on the border between Wisconsin and Illinois. Blackhawk Farms was established in 1967.
The VSCDA Group 1 cars are always a treat on and off the track, with Bugattis, Indy racers, pre-war MGs and everything in between up close and personal, Blackhawk Farms style.
JAGSL Event Details : The plan is for Jim Hendrix to lead a caravan up to the Raceway. Drive your favorite old car or your modern Jaguar or whatever vehicle that makes you comfortable. Of course, you can just head up on your own, it’s an easy drive, about 4.5 hours on highways the entire way. Bring a couple of folding chairs.
Once we get there we have our very own Phil Taxman racing his 1964 E-Type Coupe for our JAGSL driver to cheer on.
If that is not enough you can also get your own car on the track during lunch break each day! This will humble you as you learn how challenging it can be to traverse the track which will help you gain a new appreciation for “the race driver’s experience”.
